When the machines rise up and enslave humanity, we’ll rue the day Milton-Bradley built Comp IV!
December 11, 2014
We’re approaching with breakneck speed the day when computers can think for themselves, when they no longer need we humans to hold their hands and tell them what to do. And at a point in that future, when sentient machines are walking through their museum of natural history or its mechanized equivalent, they’ll look at a display of the varying stages of their evolution. Where we’d be, they’ll see some Ultron proxy. And there, somewhere near the beginning, roughly where multi-celled organisms would be in our own progression and well before Deep Blue and Watson, will be Comp IV, in all its 197os brain-teasing glory.
You can’t watch the video below and not expect it to come alive and zap that kid’s hand.
