Enjoy your Marvel Interactive CD-ROM Comic Books! (If you still have a disc drive, that is!)
Yes, there was a time when people purchased CD-ROM comic books and looked back and sneered at the readers of yesteryear who bought analogous products on pressed vinyl. Primitive fools!
Yet now we’re in the era of cloud computing and thumb drives, and CDs for data storage, including comic books (even the interactive make-your-own-adventure kind), have all the relevance of Atari 2600 E.T. cartridges. (Indeed, I’m typing this post on a laptop sans a built-in disc drive.) The CDs probably still make great coasters, though. And has anyone really improved on the old stapled newsprint as a delivery mechanism? No, right? You can’t use silly putty to pull an image of a monitor/phone/tablet/whatever, right?
I have the complete Fantastic Four and X-Men on DVD. Won’t run on the piece of s@#$ windows 8. I still have my old crappy lap top somewhere if I ever need to look at them. I have them mainly for reference since I don’t really like reading on a screen. I’m old school. I prefer paper.
