When Jerry Sloan, bad line reads, the big lunk from Mission: Impossible and a goofy Superman costume collide
November 20, 2013
It says something for the rich variety of the human experience that Jerry Sloan, known as one of the most hard-assed coaches the NBA has ever seen, and Peter Lupus, the big brick muscle-man from the old Mission: Impossible series, once combined their talents to get people to enlist in the Air Force. Oh, and Lupus played Superman in said ad, in the most ill-fitting suit ever. (Seriously, Lupus was/is a giant of a man — who was that costume tailored for, Paul Bunyan?) Thank you, 1970s.
Watching Sloan’s eyes volley back and forth as he reads his lines is hypnotic.
