Let’s be honest: Most of the world totally wanted Cyborg Superman to rip Leather Superboy’s head off

July 28, 2012

Other than that it was a colossal waste of time (much like the interminable “Knightfall” saga), the only other lingering memory that I have from the post-“Death of Superman,” post-“Funeral for a Friend” “Reign of the Supermen” was that I wanted someone — ANYONE — to put the earring-wearing Superboy over their knee and spank the living hell out of him. This ad (and the cover that followed it) was a decent substitute. THE GENOCIDAL CYBORG SUPERMAN SPEAKS FOR ALL OF US.

    Maybe YOU might have done so, but Connor Kent had a lot of fans, many of them teenagers who liked him, especially in his time with the Teen Titans. As well, there’s fan art that shows how much people love Superboy: Connor Kent/Superboy artwork

      I’d like to point out that you have to look awful hard at that link for any pictures that celebrate this tights-wearing, Cyndi-Lauper’s-jacket-wearing, pre-“Conner Kent” first iteration of the character. (Unrelatedly, there are plenty of him flashing his abs and kissing other male superheroes. EXCELSIOR.)

      I totally forgot that incarnation of Supercloneboy was the same as Connor Kent later on. I think DC has tried to forget too. (-;
