King Kong (1976). Original?

Can you call a remake “original”? That’s all I can think of whenever I see this.

Nowadays we’re never able to watch the 1976 remake of King Kong (should we want to sit through a film starring Charles Grodin) without harking back to September 11th. It’s like it’s been written into the script.
